The official currency of Botswana is the Botswana pula (BWP). The pula is further divided into 100 thebe. Banknotes are available in denominations of 10, 20, 50, 100, and 200 pula, while coins are available in denominations of 5, 10, 25, and 50 thebe, as well as 1 pula.
When visiting Botswana, it is advisable to carry some local currency for day-to-day expenses, although major credit cards are widely accepted in hotels, restaurants, and larger establishments. USD, Euros, UK Pounds and South African Rands are also typically accepted.
In Botswana, the standard power sockets and plugs used are of Type D, Type G, and Type M.

The official languages of Botswana are English & Setswana. Both are widely used in government, business, and education. However, there are also several other languages spoken in Botswana.
It’s important to note that while English is an official language and widely understood, the majority of the population speaks Setswana as their first language.
Botswana currently offers visa-free travel to most countries for stays up to 90 days. Your passport must be valid for at least six months at the time of arrival into Botswana.
